http://www.Finan09.com Candidate Submitted Biography: Mr. John M. Finan is CEO of New York City Consulting Group LLC, owner NYCRealty.com, hotelman and partner Aeolus Alternative Energy. He is one of 2 children, has a niece, nephew, brother, and sister in-law. His parents reside in Cape Cod as actively retired executive and wife. Mr. Finan is single with one previous marriage and has no children. In addition, Mr. Finan is a golfer, skier, gourmet, tennis player, motorcyclist, sports car enthusiast, woodworker, and fisherman and has a Bernese Mountain Dog, Meip, twelve. In 1986 Mr. Finan graduated Farleigh Dickinson University with a Business Degree concentrated in Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism Management and President HRTMS; 1977-1980 Education in England at Oakland Comprehensive School, obtaining 8 O Levels in Multiple disciplines including Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Math, English, Geography, and History; In 1982 he graduated Mahwah High School. Mayor Survey: John M. FinanQuestion 1: What are New York City's most pressing transportation needs? As mayor, how would you address these needs?FINAN 09 Question 2: A growing number of studies find that passive exercise, through walking and biking, is associated with significant health benefits. Would your administration make increasing walking and biking a public health priority?E. Education: Why is the administration hanging their hat on test score increases that are only minimal and increases on substandard education to begin with? Finan09 calls for all children to be in school at age two. It is widely known that the ability to learn is greatest from 2yrs to 7 yrs. Finan09 plans to use this efficiency to dramatically improve reading, mathematics, and multi-lingual statistics in City Children. Finan09 will also provide uniforms and laundering. The ability for the families and single parents to work and ease their burdens as well as provide proper nutrition will have exponential social and economic benefit. Question 3: Each year, approximately 300 people are killed and thousands of people are injured by automobiles in New York City. What would your administration do to reduce these numbers? In particular, what role should the NYPD play as the primary agency charged with keeping New Yorkers safe?E. Economy: Finan09 proposes the most broadly sweeping economic initiatives in the history of New York City. 1. Privately develop world Class Casino and Polo Grounds in New York City – Billions in Tax Revenues and Thousands of Jobs. 2. 50 percent immediate decrease in bus and subway fares for borough residents. 3. Free Bridge and Tunnel Crossings for Borough Residents. 4. No ATM Fees for Borough Residents at ATM’s in The 5 Boroughs 5. Free Wi Fi. 6. Establish World Class Soccer In NYC 7. Establish NASCAR in New York City 8. High Mileage Automobile and Wind Turbine Assembly Northern Burroughs. Question 4: The Partnership for New York City estimates that traffic congestion is to blame for $13 billion a year in losses to the New York Metropolitan Region's economy. What relationship do you see between the regional economy and traffic congestion? Which, if any, policies do you support to mitigate traffic congestion throughout the five boroughs? I. Infrastructure: Light Electric Rail, Electric Monorail, More Electric Busses, Increase Waterway Usage – All to replicate the Subway System. We intend on replacing the Subway System with a new clean Pressure Driven system similar to the vacuum tubes used at Banks to send money from your car to a bank teller. The subways will be quite, faster, cleaner, air conditioned and heated throughout with no sludge, water, or vermin. It is also our intent to build high speed rail solutions in partnerships with upstate new York, long island and neighboring states to enable travel to and from NYC form large affordable modern day “Levittown” housing complexes that have fitness facilities, schools, houses of worship, parks, parking etc. This will enable people to have a wonderful quality of life yet still enjoy the benefits or working and enjoying New York City. Question 5: The City recently released plans for Bus Rapid Transit and expressed interest in bringing a bike share program to New York City. As Mayor, would you promote the continuation and/or expansion of these public transit initiatives? T. Technology: Finan09 plans to assemble Wind Turbines and High Mileage Vehicles in Northern Manhattan. We have vertical, silent, fully enclosed wind turbines that can be installed in all environments where there are 5 mph annual average winds and are capable of providing free green renewable sustainable electricity for an average home. They can also be installed on buildings to create Urban Wind farms. Both Solutions provide electricity generation at the point of usage, alleviating issues of transmission of the electricity. There is an additional application of the turbine in a high mileage vehicle 200 MPG, 400 Horse Power, 800 – 1000 Mile range with no plug in. We will assemble these technologies in Northern New York City as well as assembly and deployment in Upstate New York and Long Island. Question 6: In an effort to increase the safety, enjoyment and health of New Yorkers walking, running, skating or riding a bike in Central and Prospect Parks, car traffic has been gradually restricted on the loop drives within these parks. What do you think of these changes? Do you have an opinion on the idea of completely closing these loop drives (not crosstown transverses) to cars and reserving them strictly for recreational users? What effect do you think such an action would have on the people in surrounding neighborhoods?The People of New York City Are Hungry for A Change and When You Are Hungry You Need To E.E.I.T. Question 7: According to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles' most currently available data, in 2007 speeding was a contributing factor in over 3,000 motor vehicle crashes in New York City. Furthermore, the same data showed that the top human contributing factor to the 264 fatal crashes in New York City during 2007 was also speeding. Given these figures, what measures (eg. speed cameras, if any, do you support to redress this problem?
